Monarch said to be 'livid' and deeply disappointed by release of the video which shows Edward VIII teaching his nieces, the seven-year-old future Queen and her three-year-old sister Princess Margaret, how to do the salute.
Sources said there were fears the 20-second cine film dating from 1933 may have been copied or stolen by a member of staff at a Royal archive then sold to a newspaper.
